The aim is to take full advantage of the natural sunlight inside the aircraft cabin. The paper presents the design of an intelligent window system for aircraft cabins, aiming to enhance the flight experience by automatically maintaining a personalised comfortable light level by changing the transparency of the electrochromic window. The system utilizes an adaptive Neural Fuzzy Inference System (ANFIS) to create personalized light levels, considering factors such as gender, age, activity, and Daylight Glare Index (DGI). The light level is controlled through a Proportional-Derivative (PD) based controller, which adjusts the transparency of the electrochromic window to achieve and maintain the desired lighting conditions. The automatic transparency control of the window and controller performance is realised in the test chamber.
