phenomenal change in the age pyramid of the European Union countries has been
depicted, where a significant increase in the retired age citizens and a
decrease in the percentage of working-age citizens is expected. Therefore, the European
Union along with the Baltic Sea Region actively participate in research on
active ageing and technology-driven services to enable the elderly to live an
independent life. One such EU-funded initiative is the OSIRIS project which
undertakes the development of a collaborative platform named the ‘Digital
Silver Hub’; an ecosystem aimed to provide innovative technological solutions
to the challenges faced by the elderly population. The platform aims to enable
the quadruple helix actors (private sector, public sector, academic
institutions, and senior citizens) to participate in knowledge exchange,
collaboration and co-creation to boost technological innovations that
accommodate the needs and preferences of the elderly. In this document, the
system user dialogue model has been documented outlining the user interface components
of the Digital Silver Hub combining the proven frameworks of Human-Computer
Interaction Pattern language by Christopher Alexander et al., Design Patterns
by Erich Gamma et al. and Interaction Design Pattern by Jenifer Tidwell et al.
Unified Modeling Language (UML) has been used to provide a visual
representation of the constituents of the platform and how it leverages
collective intelligence for the needs of the silver economy.
