Preprints are manuscripts made publicly available before they have been submitted for formal peer review and publication. They might contain new research findings or data. Preprints can be a draft or final version of an author's research but must not have been accepted for publication at the time of submission.
Our new idea of using a simple FMCW radar as an electronic walking cane is described. The letter goes beyond the idea by proposing the required architecture architecture, and even proposed antenna type and usable COTS part numbers. The idea was submitted to IEEE AP-S Student design contest in 2020.
