Isaac Cabrera is a fifth year engineering PhD student at the University of California San Diego (UCSD). He completed his bachelors degree in materials science and engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in 2017. Subsequently, he completed his masters degree in mechanical and aerospace engineering at UCSD in 2019. He currently is the lead engineer and project manager for Project Lim(b)itless, an initiative dedicated towards increasing access to affordable prosthetic limbs in developing nations. Isaac believes that bringing lab research into the field is essential to solve the world's biggest problems. He raised $33,000 to take his students on a research expedition to India so that they could see firsthand the impact of their prosthetic research.
