Jonas Kristiansen Nøland (S’14–M’17) received the Ph.D. degree in engineering physics from Uppsala University, Uppsala, Sweden, in 2017. In April 2017, he became an Associate Professor with the University of South-Eastern Norway, Porsgrunn, Norway. From December 2018, he has been an Associate Professor with the Department of Electric Power Engineering, Norwegian University of Science and Technology, Trondheim, Norway. His research interests include excitation systems, salient-pole synchronous generators, and their interplay with the power system. Dr. Nøland currently serves as an Editor within power generation subject areas for the IEEE TRANSACTIONS ON ENERGY CONVERSION. He is a Board Member of the Norwegian Academic Committee of Publication in Technology. He is also on the Steering Committee of the IEEE Power and Energy Chapter of Norway.
