Paolo Villa holds a Ph.D. degree in geomatics (2008), from the Polytechnic University of Milan, Milano, Italy. He worked with the Remote Sensing Laboratory, Polytechnic of Milan, and is a Researcher in the Institute for Electromagnetic Sensing of the Environment (IREA), CNR, Milan, Italy since 2012. His interests focus on multi- and hyperspectral image processing, aimed at monitoring environmental phenomena dynamics at different scales through Earth Observation. His research covers heterogeneous applications, dealing with: land cover change, agriculture, aquatic ecosystem, plant community diversity, soil sealing, geology, and natural hazards.
