Full Professor of Seismology and Digital Signal Processing . In my research, I deal with the theoretical and experimental aspects of the propagation of seismic waves and fracture processes in the Earth's crust occurring during earthquakes. I have been responsible for numerous research projects funded by italian and international bodies in the areas of 1 / Seismic exploration of volcanoes, 2 / the modeling of source processes and 3 / the development of Early Warning Seismic systems for seismic prevention. I recently led two industrial projects with RFI and ENI.I am currently a Member of the Scientific Council of INGV (Istituto Nazionale di Geofisica e Vulcanoogia)(Italy) for the four-year period 2020-2024. In 2007, the President of the Italian Republic awarded mewith the honor of "Commander of the Italian Republic" for scientific merits. In 2020 I have been appointed as a Member of the Academia Europae (Academy of Europe) for the Earth & Cosmic Sciences research area.
