Abstract

This manuscript was submitted to IEEE Power Engineering Letters.
We propose a Complex Dissipating Energy Flow (CDEF) whose projection onto a specific direction, defined from a representative R/X ratio of the system branches, is used to trace sources of Forced Oscillations (FO). It is shown by simulated cases that the CDEF improves the performance of the original DEF method.
