Abstract

This work explores a nonlinear extension of the conventional Maxwell equations inwhich the concept of charge density is expressed in terms of the fields.  Solutions are found to exist which consist of localized concentrations of electromagnetic energy such as exist in real particles.  Some additional features of the model for interacting particles are discussed.
