Abstract

In order to offer a better quality of service to users, operators must continuously improve their networks by carrying out the drive test which is a method of measuring and evaluating the coverage, capacity, and quality of service (QoS) of a mobile radio network. The classic drive test which consists of equipping oneself either with radio frequency equipment capable of recovering the network parameters or with drive software such as TEMS Investigation with a GPS and an MS (Mobile station ) is unreliable because they do not offer better precision on the location of the data collected and the number of tools used is cumbersome. Thus, as part of our work, we were interested in a new drive test method based on an Android application by developing an Android-based drive test platform consisting primarily of a mobile application that serves as a measuring instrument and an API to relay the data collected by the mobile application. Thus, by basing our tool on Android, we offer operators better precision on the location and the parameters measured and we improve service hygiene in the sense that we are free from a set of cumbersome tools to a simple application. , thanks to the mobile application that we have set up, the drive can be carried out on roads with high traffic density or narrow roads
