The bit error rate (BER) of non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) has been considered widely in the literature under the assumption of perfect and imperfect successive interference cancellation (SIC) where exact closed-form formulas were derived. However, all reported analyses overlooked the variations that happen to the Gaussian noise probability density function (PDF) after the SIC process. Therefore, the claimed ’exact’ analysis is incorrect and the presented analyses are actually approximations. Therefore, this comment paper derives the exact noise PDF after the SIC process and evaluates its impact on the BER analysis.
