Abstract

This article delves into the intricate relationship between the digital divide and its consequential effects on the wellbeing and resilience of developers. As the world increasingly relies on technology, the digital divide---referring to the unequal access to technology and digital literacy---poses significant challenges to developers, especially those from marginalized communities. This paper provides a comprehensive examination of the psychological, professional, and socio-economic repercussions faced by developers due to this divide. Moreover, it highlights the critical role of community and peer networks in fostering resilience amongst developers. Drawing from case studies, it showcases innovative solutions developers employ to overcome associated challenges. Conclusively, the paper presents strategies and recommendations for stakeholders, emphasizing the collective responsibility to bridge the digital chasm, ensuring that developers across the globe can thrive in an inclusive tech landscape.
